Synergy noun syn·er·gy \ˈsi-nər-jē\
1. The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.
2. Cooperative interaction among individuals, merged together as a group toward a common goal, creating an enhanced combined effect.
The Lyle Pearson 200 Relay took place this last weekend. Over the course of 200 miles, 80 teams of 4 race (or ride) from Bown Crossing (just outside of Boise) to Ketchum, Idaho. 16,191 vertical feet of climbing are conquered by riders as they make their way through the rugged highways of the Boise and Sawtooth National Forests.

Its the sort of event that weaves cyclists together. At the end of the day, there are at least 3 other people on the planet who have experienced the same rushes, challenges and euphoria that you will now attempt to communicate to your family (albeit unsuccessfully) for at least the next week. Its like being part of a secret club - suddenly you all have something in common that was so awesome and inspiring to be part of; you just know it will stay with you for a long time to come.

Ours was a very balanced team from the start. Strong climbers, skilled time trialists and descenders- like a Swiss army knife, we had all the tools. The beauty of our ride was rooted in the balance we were able to establish on the course. Transitions were smooth from the very beginning (THANK YOU MATT GREEN), bikes were dialed (THANK YOU G-Fit), weather was shrugged off with cool disregard, pacelines were strong and fluid, projected times were shattered and game faces were worn by all.

As our epic ride neared its conclusion, no one flinched- we held a solid 30 mph average to the finish. Even with the stunning Boulder White Cloud Range towering over us and the rain threatening to repeat its earlier antics, We stayed "in it" as the one minute pulls flew by. When it was all said and done, we posted a time that we could have only dreamt of that morning.

Big thanks to George's Cycles, G Fit Studio and G Corsa Event Management for the support! We all had incredible time this weekend and can't wait for the next round.

I admire people who do cycling as part of their life activity. I know a lot of people who are old now, but still they are strong for their age. They were once a cyclist who also joined different group activities. I heard some story that cycling for him is not just a hobby, that is where he met his wife. Cycling finds happiness for you, it's also a healthy activity that we can enjoy. I hope that there would be more activities regarding cycling to come this year.
